DIVINE PURPOSE 

INTRODUCTION

The issue of Purpose in the Christian faith is fast becoming a language of all, there is therefore need for us all to understand it beyond the letters. In heaven and on Earth nothing comes up without a reason, an intention or a desire, this reason, desire or intention stands as the purpose behind the existence of the particular entity.

Everything God does was and is done for a purpose, so every creature and creation exists for a purpose. The creation of man was for a purpose and the making of individual man has a purpose in accordance to the desire in the mind of God called the Divine Purpose of creation. Therefore, no child comes to the Earth without a reason, an intention at the back of God’s mind, even when the pregnancy that brought forth the child is said to be a mistake, God knows about it and he has a reason for allowing it.  

God is still seeking for Adam, the actual Adam he intended in the beginning-the 3^rd Adam. The emergence of this Adam will liberate the entire creation and creatures of God. The sought for Divine purpose is a step towards becoming that Adam the Lord seeks.   

Purpose discovery and fulfilment is far more important than any service or works you are rendering in the Kingdom. It is a MUST search.                                                                                                  

Purpose can be defined as

Ø  aim, intention

Ø  the reason behind an action

Ø  the reason for existence

Ø  what a thing is designed, programmed or configured for.

Ø  a driving force the reason for a thing.

Ø  the starting point of a thing, the design of a thing bringing it into manifestation.

Ø  a desired effect: the goal or intended outcome of something

Ø  Determination: the desire or the resolve necessary to accomplish a goal.

Ø  It is also the will power involved in the act of creating.

So, the purpose of God for your life is the MAIN REASON why GOD has created you, that is, what God thought, imagined, decided and needed before he concluded that he wants to create you, exactly as you are. This is also the DESIRE or the resolve that is necessary for you to have in order to accomplish a goal.

God therefore expect all his children to live and dwell within the purpose of their creation. Living in Purpose is to HAVE LIFE and STAY ALIVE or REMAIN alive by RESIDING or MAKING your home in THE REASON, INTENTION, DESIRE AND WILL OF GOD for your life. It is ENJOYING life to the FULLEST persistently and CONTINUOUSLY, all WITHIN the REASON, INTENTION, and DESIRE AND WILL OF GOD for your life. That is fulfilling that exact thing that was in the MIND OF GOD when he decided to create you and when he was creating you. This is DIVINE.

Divine Purpose is therefore:

The fulfilling of the revelation of the mind, intention and the reason of God for creating and designing you exactly the way you are.

Let us consider the purpose of man in two major parts:

i)        The general purpose of the creation of Man

ii)      The specific purpose of your creation.

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE CREATION OF MAN

Man was not created by mistake; God pre-planned it for a purpose for Himself. There are three major men to be reckoned with in the Bible, these are Lucifer, Adam in the garden and the last Adam. Unto this last Adam we are to conform, unto his image and likeness. 1Co 15:45 . So the general purpose of the creation of man is: 

1)      That God may be able to behold Himself. To see his own image and likeness on Earth. Gen 1:27

2)      God created MAN for his PLEASURE. That is he wants to always be in a state of being happy and satisfied with ‘himself’ and with you. Rev 4:11

3)      When God has the pleasure he wants in a man, it gives him PREEMINENCE. that is to feel and know that he is the most important thing in the life of the man and on Earth. Col 1:18

4)      God wants to be the number one with a higher standard than others in our lives. He wants to take the first place in our lives and be chief over all his creation. Col 1:18

5)      God created all things by man. Man was the template and platform by which all other things were created, so he wants man to be the source of their lives. Col 1:16, Joh 1:1,3

6)      God need someone who will be in charge of his affairs, so he created man, that man can have dominion over all his other creatures and creations. Gen 1: 26   

7)      God want all he has made to be preserved and secured , that they can be everlasting. So all things were made to be preserved and consist in man.  Col 1:15-18, Ge 45:7

8)      The uttermost desire of God is that the man created will be a “God” here on Earth and over all creatures and creations, hence God will rest from all His works and labour. 1Co 3:9, 2Co 6:1, Ps 82:6, Joh 10:34

THE SPECIFIC PURPOSE OF YOUR CREATION.

Apart from the general purpose of creation of man, God created you the way you are specifically for a purpose and a reason which eventually will help and make you to fulfil the general purpose of man’s creation. So your makeup, shape, look, ability, strength and several unique things about you has a lot to do with what he created you for. Hence there are no two people like you ever created. Ps 139, Romans 8:28, Jer 49:30, Luke 22:31-32, Gen 11:6 .

Your personal purpose therefore becomes a platform, the LIFE carrying force for you to be MADE and enable you to FULFIL the general purpose of the creation of man.

To achieve this goal you need to work on the following:

(i)                 Understand what purpose is.

(ii)               Search and Discover the purpose of God for your life.

(iii)             Understand the purpose discovered.

(iv)             Know that your purpose cannot be destroyed but can be hindered /delayed.

(v)               Receive instruction on the how, where and when of the purpose.

(vi)             Be obedient and work on the instruction diligently unto fulfilment.

The limitation of this write up will not allow me to work on each of these points, but, I will do some justice to them.

1)      THE 4 MAJOR PURPOSES OF A MAN’S LIFE...

  There are four major purposes in a man’s life that determines how far he goes with the purpose of God for his life. These are:

q  Your parents desire (biological and spiritual), will, intention and purpose for your life.

q  Your personal purpose for your life

q  The devils’ purpose or plans for your life.

q  God’s purpose for your life, the Divine purpose.

 Each of these reasons or purpose of existence has the ability to be established and dominate a person’s life. Definitely one must take preeminence...

q  The one you respond to determines which side you belong to.

q  The one that is established determines who is in charge of your life.

q  If your parent’s desire (biological and spiritual) and your personal desire is what run in your life, then you are fulfilling the natural purpose or plans for your life. (which is not of God or the devil)

q  The divine purpose must stand, if not. God will KILL you.

q  If you are not walking in Divine purpose yet and you are still living, it is because God still wants to give you a chance.

q  You are still LIVING because GOD wants to TRY YOU OUT AND SEE IF YOU WILL SUBMIT YOUR WILL TO HIS OR NOT.

q  THE greatest sin is the INABILITY to DISCOVER YOUR PURPOSE ON EARTH and the INABILITY to be  “LIVING” in it .

q  it is better you are dead rather than not fulfil the Divine purpose.

2)      YOUR PURPOSE, YOUR SKILL AND TALENT.

There are three things that most of the time are mistaken for each other, these are

1.      SKILL

2.      TALENT

3.      PURPOSE

Never mix up your purpose with your skill and talent; they are different from each other. People who refuse to be SKILLED remain servants and slaves while people who do not make good use of their TALENTS are called wicked servant and are handed over to tormentors and casted into outer darkness and People who do not work out and live in PURPOSE are better dead even if they are skilled and talented. Mt 18:23-34

Therefore, a SKILL gained will help to open up the TALENT in you which is the INSTRUMENT of expressing your PURPOSE on earth.

3)      WHERE CAN I FIND MY PURPOSE?

Purpose can almost be taken as a personality because of its power, ability and influence. It is the EXPRESSION of God in man. Definitely there is a place where it can be found since it is to be searched out.

The Purpose of God is written in the book as the PROPHETIC PROCESSED MANNUAL compressed into the Bible in different chapters and verses. In this manual is the purpose of God for each creation and creature. This manual is a book of books, and in it the purpose of God for man is written in the VOLUME OF THE BOOK (the purpose manual for man). Consider; Ps 40: 6-8. Ps 139:13. Luke 24:44. “The Volume of the Book” is simply the things God intends and expects you to do for him in order to bring His plans and intentions for creating you to pass.

Beloved, God is a mystery, there are many secrets hidden by God, they are scattered all over the pages of the Bible and it takes deep revelation and search to discover and understand them. Isaiah 45:3; Ps 18:11; Ps 81:7; Ps 91:1.

There is a place called the SECRET PLACE where God keeps things. This secret place is darkness, the dwelling place of God. It is the Pavilion of God. This is where he keeps all the secret things and it takes entering into the place and a search to discover these things and even for your eyes to be opened to understand the scriptures. One of the mysteries of God is the issue of the volume of the book kept in THE SECRET PLACE, the closet, a place of personal and intimate relationship with your God. This topic is not discussed fully here.

Anyone who desires to fulfil purpose MUST therefore keep his/her closet in order to get his/her VOLUME OF THE BOOK.

4)      HINDRANCE OF PURPOSE:

       1. Which of these can hinder purpose?   

* place of birth?  * faith of parents?                           

 * the devil?        * marriage?

* level of the word of God?  *and  you (self?)

2. Ignorance and knowledge of the word of truth
3. Not relating with the father, Phil. 3:7-13, John 20:1-18
4. Not acting on the truth revealed as instructed
5. Disobedience : to God and the MAN he has set over your life.
6. Imitating others. You want to be like.....
7. Pride: Always not ready to learn from others. We all know in part.
8. Murmuring, you need LONG SUFFERING.
9. Time management is important in the fulfilment of purpose.
10. Your relationships, with God and with man.
11. Your character and attitude.
12. NOTE; All these points can hinder not destroy your purpose. YOU ALONE can destroy the  purpose of God for your life. Not even the devil.

5)      EFFECTIVE PURPOSE

For a thing to be effective means the thing is SUCCESSFUL IN PRODUCING THE DESIRED OR INTENDED RESULT. In the case of purpose, the intended or desired result is for the THOUGHT, EXACT MIND AND INTENTION of God at creation to come to pass.

So an EFFECTIVE PURPOSE is a purpose in the hand of an individual that is producing consistently and continually the intended or desired THOUGHT, EXACT MIND AND INTENTION of God at the creation of the person carrying the purpose till he returns back to the Lord.

 For a purpose to be effective the originator of the purpose is generally not a problem he only set a standard for the purpose, it is the carrier of the purpose that will see to the effective fulfilment of the purpose. Let’s consider these scriptures:

1)      Who is your teacher? Who is your pastor? Who is your Moses? Do they teach the truth? 2 Tim 3: 14-17

2)      What is your purpose? How are you passing on what you have received? 2 Tim 2:2

3)      Operate in your office. 1Cor 12:28

4)      Walk in the ancient land mark! Isaiah 30:20-21

5)      Your relationships- it can make or mare you.

i)                     Your CLOSET; Your relationship with your God and your father. This is your REASONABLE WORSHIP AND FELLOWSHIP with the Lord, wherein you can easily get the mind of God. It is a must do. It is your love making period with the Lord, the time of INTERCOURSE. It is a way of paying tithe of your time.

ii)                   Your relationship with people around you. Whether you like it or not the people around you can hinder your purpose and make useless all your efforts. You must LEARN how to live with them peacefully. Heb 12:14

Relationship is the way and manner of life in which two people or individuals in a group behave towards each other or relate with each other, an ability to interact with people around you bringing about a living.

The living may be peaceful or terrible, good or bad depending on the intention or mind of the people in the relationship. This living is not an ‘act’ but a reality of attitude and behaviour from one person to another.

It is therefore important to note here that; if I am having problems with my relationships, it is a problem with me not with God or my partners. All I have to do is to settle with my God first and then understand my partner.

PLEASE NOTE: God holds you responsible for every failed and wrong relationship you are involved in no matter how innocent, truthful and pure you are to the cause of its fall or failure.

6)       VERY IMPORTANT:

v  Beloved, you MUST know that you have a purpose and you MUST desire to discover at all cost it.

v  Your purpose is greater than you, you must cherish it (him).

v  Your purpose is more important than you- your person. It is the main reason why you were created, every other thing is secondary.

v  PURPOSE is powerful and strong, once a thing is desired or purposed it will take God the supreme alone to break it.

v  You need Divine counsel for your purpose to be established. Pr 20:18. Beware of those that will kill the vision.

v  Even your desire, that is those things you want for yourself, has to be in accordance to the purpose of God for your life.

v  Your character and attitude to your purpose, to people around you can either build or hinder your purpose. Ps 15: 1-2

v  There is a time set for your purpose to be birthed; you cannot afford to miss the time. You must be trained and prepared before this time. Ec 3:1, 17; 8:6.

v  Purpose lives in the CLOSET, to get your purpose keep your CLOSET always.

v  Your continual living and partaking of all the good things that the Divine God has set for those that are His own on Earth and in Heaven depends on how much of your purpose you were able to discover, understand, interpret and live in. Eph 3:20

WHAT IS GOD’S DESIRE FOR YOU AND YOUR PURPOSE?

v  GOD desire sons, NOT servants.

v  Sons that he can rely on. Obedient children, who are ready to learn, even in suffering.

v  Sons that will bruise the head of the serpent and the serpent will only be able to lick the dust at their feet. THE BATTLE AXE. Gen 3:13, Jer 51:20

v  God expect you to search out this purpose, understand it, live in it and fulfil it thereby presenting your body a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

v  God expects you to work towards being restored back from the lost Adam position to a better one a QUICKENING SPIRIT rather than a LIVING SOUL.

v  God desires that you will operate on Earth right from your throne with him (heaven as you will call it) hence becoming a God. 2Co 12:2

Read 2 TIM 1:9-10...... By this, the will and desire of God will come to pass.
